Clinical Hypnotherapy
Hi, I’m Lainy and firstly, a very warm welcome.
If you’re reading this, you’re probably trying to work out whether I might be the right person for you. And that matters. Counselling is personal, and finding someone you actually feel comfortable talking to is a huge part of it.
I’ve spent the last 26 years working as a counsellor, mindfulness coach and emotional resilience consultant, supporting adults and young people through anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, abuse, difficult relationships, low self-esteem and those periods of life where you just feel completely lost.
But I don’t believe healing is one-size-fits-all. You’re the expert on you. My role isn’t to tell you how to live your life; it’s to help you understand what’s happening inside your own mind, where certain thoughts, feelings and patterns might be coming from, and what you can begin doing differently now.
Sometimes that starts with simply having somewhere safe enough to say, “This is how I really feel.”
No judgement. No worrying about upsetting anyone else. No pretending you’re okay when you’re not.
But I also want you to leave therapy with things you can actually use.
We might look at negative thinking, anxiety, boundaries, communication, confidence or self-esteem, while building practical tools that help you become more emotionally resilient and more able to cope when life gets difficult again.
I call it building your own emotional bounce-back kit.
My style is warm, light-hearted and practical. There may be difficult conversations, but therapy doesn’t have to feel serious every second of the hour. I want there to be room for curiosity, humour, learning and those little moments where something suddenly makes sense.
Ultimately, my aim isn’t for you to need me forever. It’s to help you understand yourself better, become more confident in your own ability to cope and, hopefully, find a little more of that spark in yourself again.
